SBI Card – New Rules updated  from April 1, 2026

SBI Card has announced some changes on how reward points can be redeemed and these updates will affect the way customers convert their reward points into statement credit. These  new update  will come into effect from April 1, 2026, as mentioned by  SBI Card website as notice issued.

Is there a monthly cap of 60,000 reward points for statement credit?

Yes, with effect from April 1, 2026,  few SBI Card holders  can redeem a maximum of 60,000 reward points each month for statement credit and it means for example  if a customer tries to redeem 75,000 points in the month May 2026, only 60,000 points can be  converted into statement credit during that particular month.

Which SBI credit cards has not affected by this new reward rule?

The new monthly reward point limit will not be applicable to some premium SBI credit cards which  include the Air India SBI Signature Card, PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE, and PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK.

Other eligible SBI credit card users will have to follow the 60,000 reward points monthly cap.

Redemption Restriction-SBI Card 2026 New Upgrade: ₹60K Monthly

From April 1, 2026, SBI Card has changed the way reward points can be redeemed. For some credit cards, customers will now need to redeem points in multiples of 4,000 when converting them into statement credit.

This new rule applies to most eligible cards, except PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE and PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK.

  1.  Open the SBI Card app in mobile  and log in
     Tap on ‘More’option  at the bottom and choose ‘Rewards’
     Click ‘Redeem’ under this and pick the items you want from the rewards list
     Go to ‘Redeem Cart’ and tap ‘Checkout’ to finish the process completely.
